Your child’s tablet can help enhance and transform their learning.

Tablets are becoming very popular among children.

They keep young ones entertained and are also a great tool to help them learn. In fact, ‘schooling’ can even begin from the comfort of your own home. With so many educational apps, programmes and games, children can learn some of the basic things that are taught in school before they even start school.

What makes a good tablet for kids?

A good tablet for children is easy to use and navigate.

It must come with age-appropriate content as well as all the parental controls necessary to make sure your child isn’t exposed to any content not suitable.

You also want to ensure that you buy a tablet that is durable. Kids often drop things and you don’t want to find yourself having to buy or fix a tablet every few months. Protect your child’s tablet with a good tablet cover.

Keeping control over how much time your children spend on their tablets is also important. “We advise parents to download learning apps for their children, but they have to be careful to not allow the children to spend too much time on their tablets. The maximum time that children should spend on their tablets is 30 minutes, then they should take a break. You must also make sure you supervise your children because if you don’t supervise, they can do other stuff that they are not supposed to instead of learning” says teacher Paula from Madon Daycare in Midrand.
