Former Miss South Africa and renowned businesswoman, Basetsana Khumalo, shows how to wear your natural afro with pride.

Rise and shine for the Lord has blessed us with a new day. I was reflecting with my sister @phyllisnewhouse earlier and this is what she shared with me. Had to share this with you. #IronSharpensIron I learned from Esther. Esther was called upon to do a work for God, and she answered and was used, and many people survived as a result. The important thing to note however, is that God never needed Esther and had she refused His invitation, His plans to save many lives would have gone unhindered. Our sovereign God can and will do all that He pleases, yet He desires that we get involved. We all have an invitation to join the work that He's already doing, and the only loss occurs when we refuse, is our own loss. "His will" is not nearly as hard to find as some people make it out to be. Do you want to know what God's will is for your life? Find out what He's already doing around you and join Him. It's as simple as that. All you have to do is take the assignment, RAISE YOUR HAND AND SHOW UP! Personally as Basetsana, in 2017, I made a conscious decision to raise my hand and show up. Go and have yourself a good and productive day!!!🌹🌹🌹 #TheYearOfYes #TheYearOfShowingUp #TheYearOfRaisingYourHand Pic @sbu_kandee 💄 @makeup_by_winnie 👗 @GavinRajah

Pearl spoke to Bona Magazine about tips for caring for natural hair. To keep natural hair moisturized, she advises that women should use good quality moisturizers and cover their hair with a satin cap before putting on a head wrap.

She also adds that women should avoid constantly styling and combing their hair, and rather give their hair a break at times.

“Avoid heat styling your hair before braiding or putting on a weave. Heat styling dehydrates your hair making it more likely to break while braided,” she added.

For the best winter care for natural hair, she says keep your hair hydrated, whether you have braids, a weave or a wig like me. Always make sure your natural hair stays hydrated," she told the publication.
